Cyber OT Architect (Contract Role)
Talascend is seeking an experienced Cyber OT Architect to support cybersecurity initiatives for industrial and manufacturing environments within the aerospace sector. The consultant will work closely with engineering, operations, and application teams to ensure that industrial applications and systems are designed and operated according to cybersecurity best practices.
The primary focus of this role is to perform security architecture reviews, support Security-by-Design activities, identify cybersecurity risks, and define practical remediation plans to reduce risk exposure to acceptable levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Review technical architecture documentation for industrial and manufacturing applications.
- Define and validate secure architecture patterns and security controls.
- Conduct Security-by-Design assessments during architecture and solution design phases.
- Identify cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, and gaps in OT environments.
- Develop remediation plans and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Assess industrial systems for resilience, attack scenarios, single points of failure (SPOFs), and degraded operational modes.
- Contribute to technical documentation, including:
- Technical Architecture Documents (TADs)
- Security and detection strategies
- Installation and administration guides
- Acceptance and validation test plans
- Ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity standards and internal security requirements.
- Facilitate technical discussions and coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on industrial or OT environments.
- Hands-on experience securing industrial systems within manufacturing environments.
- Experience working on cybersecurity projects alongside operations, integration, engineering, or maintenance teams.
- Strong understanding of:
- Security architecture
- Risk assessment methodologies
- Threat identification and mitigation
- Industrial control system (ICS) and OT security principles
- Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- IEC 62443 certification or demonstrable expertise with the standard.
- Experience securing manufacturing applications and production environments.
- Experience supporting large industrial organizations with cybersecurity governance and architecture initiatives.

- Updated application architecture documents incorporating cybersecurity requirements.
- Cybersecurity assessment findings.
- Risk analysis and mitigation recommendations.
- Remediation plans and implementation roadmaps.
