Talascend is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Overview
This role involves performing assembly, testing, and quality inspection of electromechanical and electro-hydraulic control systems used in aircraft and helicopter engines. It requires working with precision tools, following detailed instructions, and maintaining safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform standard assembly and testing processes on a variety of equipment.
- Use precision tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment to conduct assembly, in-process inspections, calibration, and testing of hydro-mechanical fuel controls.
- Read, understand, and execute according to quality procedures, blueprints, and specifications.
- Inspect parts and products for quality and detect faulty operation or defective tools and materials.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas according to Visual Management and 5S standards.
- Work through electronic work instructions, engineering, and quality procedures.
- Participate in daily Tier meetings, continuous improvement activities, and rapid problem solving.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including overtime and weekend work when necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and detailed assembly/test instructions.
- Experience with precision measuring devices such as micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers.
- Proficiency with hand tools and basic computer skills (MS Office, internet navigation).
- Intermediate math skills.
- 3-6 years of manufacturing experience in assembly and testing preferred.
- Excellent work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- North Carolina WorkKeys Career Readiness certificate, Silver or Gold preferred.
- Six Sigma training or certification.
- Associates degree.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
- Experience with 5-S principles and continuous improvement activities.
