Talascend is currently seeking a Material Handler for a contract opportunity with our client in Sterling, Virginia.
Overview
This role involves performing a variety of warehouse tasks supporting a production and integration facility for defense customers. The candidate will handle incoming receipt and inspection, inventory management, shipping, and other warehousing duties while coordinating with internal staff and external suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming materials
- Stock and inventory materials on shelves
- Pick materials for production orders and deliver to points of contact
- Perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Set up and connect IT equipment for remote configuration
- Coordinate large shipments of materials during receiving and distribution
- Support inventory management of company, government, and customer assets
- Package and ship products
- Assist with other warehousing tasks as assigned
- Interface effectively with all levels of internal staff including engineering, program management, procurement, and external suppliers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with less than 1 year of relevant experience
- U.S. Citizenship
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, and climb ladders
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
