Talascend is currently seeking a Reliability Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Calvert, Alabama.
Overview
The Reliability Engineer will provide engineering support through reliability processes within a highly automated heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for the maintenance team.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in reliability engineering practices.
- Initiate and facilitate root cause analyses of equipment failures and major breakdowns.
- Identify and propose solutions for recurring equipment failures and unplanned downtime events.
- Participate in critical equipment inspections and analyses.
- Analyze equipment data, recommended maintenance plans, drawings, and related documentation.
- Write technically based equipment maintenance plans.
- Track and trend equipment maintenance performance.
- Review drawings and technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- At least 10 years of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent industry.
- Proficiency in performing data analysis on equipment performance.
- Proficiency in reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Proficiency with office productivity software.
- Familiarity with root cause failure analysis, cause mapping, and Kaizen problem-solving methodologies.
- Proficiency in writing technical proposals and communications for multiple levels of an organization.
- Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders and work effectively in small and large teams.
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to facilitate and lead meetings efficiently and effectively.
- Logical and critical thinking mindset when addressing problems.
- Ability to adapt to and lead changes when business demands shift.
- Ability to identify effective and efficient processes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge of competencies defined in ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and ISO 17025 standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional certification.
- Predictive maintenance certification or qualification in vibration, thermography, oil analysis, tribology, or motor circuit analysis.
- Certified Reliability Engineer certification.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Advanced experience with continuous galvanizing processes.
- Working knowledge of enterprise maintenance management systems.
