Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Planner for a contract opportunity located in Richland, WA.

OVERVIEW:


This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Selected applicant needs to be able and willing to work weekends as needed.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control and supervision of Waste Treatment Closure Company.

The Production Planning job family is responsible for planning, scheduling, and organizing the efficient maintenance, operation and performance of work assignments. Coordinates with various departments to achieve optimum utilization of operations and maintenance resources to effectively achieve production improvements through usage of industry standard methodologies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop electrical work packages and work instructions to support maintenance work activities including preplanning, material staging, requisitioning/expediting, labor estimating.
  • Monitors assignments to ensure that they are within the agreed scope, and that the work is being performed within outlined policies and expectations.
  • Coordinates timely development and release of work packages, task requests, and work orders to support the operations/maintenance / Startup Testing schedule.
  • Ensures work orders are in compliance with project directive documents.
  • Assists in the determination of work priority, and establishes workflow processes that support work management and operations goals.
  • Periodically reviews work performed for attainment of objectives, policy compliance and priorities, effective coordination, technical adequacy and responsiveness to established guidelines.
  • Integrates efficient maintenance and operations that are in compliance with company policies, client requirements, and governmental regulations.
  • Ensures all safety and environmental guidelines are followed without deviation.
  • Must achieve qualification within 6 months of assignment.
  • May be required to complete other assignments in order to support Construction, Start-up, and Plant Operations departments to meet evolving WTP Project needs.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or quality assurance from an accredited university and a minimum of 6 years of experience in a field of engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations or quality assurance.
  • In lieu of formal degree, a minimum of 12 years of experience in a field of engineering, testing, or operations.
  • Upon reporting, must be able to complete and pass a medical evaluation for badging purposes. Must have full mobility, be able to walk on uneven or broken surfaces (rocks, gravel, etc.). The examination includes, but is not limited to ability to pass blood pressure test, able to bend, twist, pull, push, climb, and lift more than 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
  • Possess the legal right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.

If applicable, mobilization and demobilization expenses (mileage, lodging, and M&IE) are authorized to and from the assignment location if point of origin is more than 50 miles away. Demobilization is authorized only if the assignment is completed per the assignment end date, or the client ends the assignment earlier than specified.

Contract employees are expected to drive their own car to the assignment location. Lodging plus methodology is approved for the settling-in period of the first 30 days or until long-term lodging is occupied, whichever occurs first. For mobilization, demobilization and during the settling-in period all charges, except M&IE per diems, are to be invoiced by the agency with required receipts. After long-term lodging is occupied, or the 30-day period has elapsed, the per diem allowance for lodging, meals and incidental expenses will be no more than 55% of the approved FTR rate. Meals will be expensed via daily entry into the time record system. Expense reports including receipts will continue to be required for lodging. Actual lodging costs up to 55% of the approved FTR rate will be reimbursed.

Contract employees on single status assignments of 3 months or more may be granted trips home. Trips are not to exceed a frequency of once every 28 days provided that a minimum of 30 days, from the trip departure date, remain in the assignment. Trips are expected to be scheduled over the weekends and will be on the contract employee’s own time. Up to 3 days of home leave travel expenses will be reimbursed including parking and car rental at home (if own car was driven to project location). M&IE is only paid on travel days. Deviations in home leave schedules require project approval. Reimbursement for travel via common carrier (airline, train, or bus) may not exceed the cost of economy class airfare.
