A Talascend client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager for their plant site in Baytown, TX.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing maintenance activities to ensure the efficient and uninterrupted operation of machinery, equipment, and facilities from commissioning through preventive practices as it applies to daily production. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies, to ensure optimal equipment and facility performance.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, certify and motivate maintenance personnel, including technicians, mechanics, and electricians, to ensure they perform their tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Equipment and Machinery Maintenance: Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair activities for manufacturing machinery, production equipment, and facility systems. This includes scheduling, performing, or supervising maintenance tasks.
  • Spare Parts Management: Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and materials to minimize downtime and ensure quick response to equipment breakdowns.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that maintenance activities and procedures are in compliance with safety regulations, and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements and implement strategies to increase reliability, production efficiency, cost-effectiveness and reduce downtime.
  • Emergency Repairs: Respond to and manage emergency maintenance situations and coordinate repairs to minimize production interruptions.
  • Vendor Relations: Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance work, ensuring high-quality service and cost-effectiveness.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and spare parts inventory, and generate reports on equipment performance and maintenance KPIs.
  • Environmental Compliance: Work with EHS to ensure that maintenance activities adhere to environmental regulations and support the plant's environmental sustainability initiatives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is often preferred, but relevant experience and technical qualifications may also be considered.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and machinery, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulics/pneumatics and automation systems.
