Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical and Plumbing Project Manager for a contract to possible direct hire opportunity located in Nashville, TN.

OVERVIEW: 


Mechanical and Plumbing Project Manager is responsible for designing, selling, managing, and executing new HVAC and plumbing projects to our existing customer base as well as new customers, including both general contractors and owners. The project manager is responsible for delivering all aspects of the project and executing it at agreed upon margins Initiative, decisiveness, tact, integrity, judgment, leadership skills and technical knowledge are essential to successfully managing projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Designing, selling, planning, organizing, controlling and coordinating all aspects of the commercial Mechanical and plumbing projects sold by or assigned to the project manager.
  • Estimating and selling change orders based on the project and customer s needs.
  • Overseeing all projects to ensure optimal customer service, efficient use of equipment and time, and meeting departmental strategic and budgetary goals.
  • Managing the necessary administrative records and controls to protect both company and the customer s interests, including prompt and accurate invoicing, submittals and shop drawings, and close out materials.
  • Resolving customer concerns and complaints in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Perform sales calls to customers and prospects to build and maintain a strong project pipeline.
  • As projects near completion, work closely with the service team to present and sell new preventive maintenance agreements.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Seven or more years of combined practical and academic experience in the full range of Mechanical and plumbing sub-fields, including the experience to analyze a typical field situation and provide a timely, correct solution, with at least 1 year of it in a project manager capacity.
  • Ability to successfully direct and coordinate the requirements of the customers, employees, outside suppliers, delivery schedules, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers and vendors to ensure prompt and timely delivery at the lowest possible price.
  •  Ability to learn and use project management software as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to represent the company to existing and prospective customers.
  • Excellent phone, written and interpersonal skills.
