Inventory/Materials Assistant
Talascend is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Inventory/Materials Assistant position located in Orlando, FL.
Responsibilities:
- Candidate will be a liaison between engineering labs and material centers by linking everything together for a smoother operation.
- This position requires combination of manual and clerical duties to receive and inspect materials, prepare package and label for outgoing shipment, maintaining stock, place orders, organize stock, overstock areas, distribute and maintain controlled stock items, drive deliveries and pick up material outsourced to local suppliers, able to read schematic part list or Bill of Materials (BOM) and generate kits for engineering lab, capture redlines identified during procurement, and assist with inventory audit.
- Must be able to load the stockroom van to pick up and deliver stock including palletized equipment.
- Able to move and load all types of material and supplies in the stockroom and where needed to outsourced vendors and on site local.
- Someday travel to Ocala may be required.
Desired skills :
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively independently & in a team environment
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and have the flexibility to move seamlessly between projects
- Prior experience in material handling and stockroom environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good computer skills for data entry and experience using Microsoft Word & Excel
Required Experience :
- Must have 3 or more years of experience dealing with material processing and handling
- Experience preparing kits (assembling all parts needed for a unit build) and delivering kits to the production floor or engineering lab
- Ability to read schematics and parts lists
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
