JOB TITLE:        IT Computer Electronic Technician
DURATION:        9 months with possible extension

JOB SUMMARY:
IT Mechanical Assembly, Repair and Testing in a Manufacturing environment. Work to turn customer repairs in 7 days or less. The candidate will support customer returns that need repairs. Candidates must have good communication skills and will interact with every team member daily with a Team size of 9 members. You will be supporting two product screening lines; Some items will consist of repairs while others will be production items, such as installing SW, mechanical assembly, and testing.  A typical day will involve receiving customer returns, diagnosis, repair, and mechanical assembly. The candidate will have the chance to learn all the product lines in the building. The team supports and repairs all the products we have on-site, either through mechanical assembly, testing and/or repairing. The candidate will be open to training. Some training will require travel.  Be prepared to ask a lot of questions, take notes, be patient, follow engineering written procedures.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Performs technical functions supporting Engineering activities.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Works from documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, diagrams, layouts, and plans often requiring interpretation and application of comprehensive knowledge and practical understanding of electronic theory and principles. Applications may include analog, digital, and/or video circuits and logic systems.
  • Conducts testing in a development mode and determines methods or actions to correct malfunctions or design problems.
  • Recommends modifications to engineering designs as necessary.
  • May assist in the design, construction, test, and checkout of test equipment.
  • Normally assigned in areas such as development, engineering, test equipment, system checkout, fabrication, etc. (It should be understood this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Education or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Electronics preferred.
  • 3+ years of related work experience is required.
  • Systems level trouble shooting skills and experience.
  • Computer configuration (loading/testing SW) experience.
  • Ability to use Excel preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to write repair synopsis and use QuickBase software preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs -50lbs is required.
SCOPE:
Handles routine tasks with no assistance, general instructions on new assignments.
Applies job skills and company policies to complete a wide range of tasks.

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
IMPACT: Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules.
LIAISON: Interacts daily with supervisor, peer groups, and customers.
FREEDOM TO ACT: Under limited supervision. Normally receives some instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.
LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT: KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY:
Having knowledge and experience, able to handle usual occurring job events. Choice of action requires more than common sense in that some training and experience is needed before knowing what to do under special circumstances.
