Talascend is currently seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist II for a contract opportunity located in Tempe, AZ.

1st Shift. Onsite 5 days/week during training. Possible Hybrid after.

OVERVIEW: 


As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist II, you will play a crucial role in driving strategic sourcing initiatives and optimizing procurement processes. You will be responsible for identifying cost-saving opportunities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. Your expertise in strategic sourcing and supplier management will contribute to the overall success of our procurement function.

You will report directly to our Sr Director, Strategic Sourcing and you'll work out of either our Tempe or Phoenix AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our procurement operations, driving cost savings and ensuring the availability of high-quality goods and services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize procurement processes and drive cost savings.
  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify potential suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, performance evaluations, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services, meeting quality and cost requirements.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.


Roles and responsibility break down:

  • Commodity Specialist Responsibilities:
    • Commodity management and negotiation
    • NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) draft/signature/upload to systems
    • Draft Unilateral Letters, Novations, Assignments, Assumptions w/ Law & Contracts
    • Review Amendments prior to Signature to ensure fidelity
  • Create, Complete and submit Compliance Packages:
    • Compliance Pkg - ETRs (Extended Terms Request)
    • Compliance Pkg - Pull FAIRS
    • Compliance Pkg - Pull supplier scorecards
    • Compliance Pkg - SAP updates, including Min Order Qty, Price validation, Contract Validation & VMI validation
    • Compliance Pkg - Complete FRPJ (Fair and Reasonable Price Justification)
  • RFQ Package - Pull/Send drawings:
    • Vendor Master Changes and Adds
    • Material Master Changes
    • Pull and validate part demand and historical receipts
    • Uploading Documents to our contract management tools
    • Initiate SCE (Should Cost) requests
    • Pull Platform details in designated systems
    • PO/Supplier Portal Issue resolution and submit corrections to our contract management tool
    • Support, run and analyze CID and BAA content analysis


POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, procurement, supply chain, finance, or technical discipline.
  • Strong data analytics usage (MS Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in supplier management and contract negotiations.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, specifically Aerospace.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Experience in Sourcing and Procurement.
  • Project Management and/or Contract Management Experience.
  • Professional Certifications in Project/Supply Chain/ Procurement/Contract Management.
  • Business Mindset and a passion for learning.
  • Demonstrated Business and financial acumen.
  • Experience with SAP or site relevant ERP systems, E Sourcing Platforms, Request for Quotation Tools, Project Management Tools and Microsoft Suite of products.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Tools.
