Sr. Technical Project Manager - Industrial or Manufacturing Experience
Job Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer oversees all technical aspects throughout project execution, including coordinating engineering activities, managing interfaces, and liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal/external specialists. The primary goal is to ensure contractual performance targets are met on time and within the engineering budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the technical scope of projects from initiation through final installation acceptance, optimizing technical outcomes, managing budgets, and controlling design costs.
- Build and lead a project team, fostering skill development and sharing knowledge within the entity and the Group.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure full technical satisfaction.
- Plan and coordinate tasks among contributors alongside the project manager.
- Lead and supervise the technical team including designers and specialist engineers.
- Coordinate engineering subcontractors and technical cooperation with consortium partners.
- Develop, update, and manage the engineering schedule and resource allocation.
- Track work progress, document changes, and ensure technical work meets project requirements.
- Review and approve technical documents and ensure proper distribution to all stakeholders.
- Address technical change orders and non-conformity reports during manufacturing, erection, and commissioning.
- Initiate design reviews, especially when deviations from initial plans occur.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in technical project management, preferably with steel mill equipment projects.
- Proven success managing large, complex projects.
- Technical expertise in furances or steel mill equipment and processes.
- Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be required.
