Talascend is currently seeking a Manufacturing Support Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Troy, New York.

Overview

This role is essential to ensuring equipment uptime, process stability, and a clean manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to follow detailed procedures in a cleanroom or controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance tasks on semiconductor tools and equipment.
  • Conduct particle checks and inspections to ensure equipment cleanliness and compliance with cleanroom standards.
  • Perform chemical drum changes and ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Perform wipe-down preventive maintenance (PMs) to maintain cleanliness and reduce particle contamination on and around equipment.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Technicians and Production Team Leaders to schedule PMs around production needs.
  • Document all maintenance activities accurately in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify and report equipment issues or potential failures to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and environmental protocols.
  • Assist with managing and tracking spare part inventories to ensure availability for scheduled maintenance.
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned to support manufacturing operations and equipment reliability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or maintenance role, preferably in a semiconductor or cleanroom environment.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with PM procedures, chemical handling, and cleanroom protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, maintenance manuals, and SOPs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with MES systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with production teams.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in cleanroom attire and handling chemicals with appropriate PPE.
  • May require shift work, including nights or weekends, depending on production needs.
