Mechanical Engineer Level III
Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer Level III for a contract opportunity with our client in Mason, Ohio.
Overview
The role involves assisting engineering teams in preparing mechanical layouts, equipment distribution, performing equipment selection, and defining bill of materials and product models configurations. It includes performing mechanical design activities under supervision and on-site commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Prepares mechanical engineering drawings in collaboration with engineering specialists using CAD system.
- Prepares layouts integrating several levels for material handling flow.
- Provides support during site commissioning ensuring equipment distribution and performance.
- Supports continuous improvement of project process/product/system design via provision of lessons learned feedback.
- Delivers in-house assignments as per the agreed timeline and set quality standards for 2D/3D CAD work.
- Follows work plans and cost estimates for work within project budgets, troubleshooting and support activities.
- Ensures accurate application and implementation of standard design practices and tools in preparing accurate drawings and 3D modeling.
- Uses standard processes and procedures to ensure all layout and equipment selection activities comply with project specifications to satisfy contractual requirements.
- Reports processes and tools inefficiencies and suggests improvement ideas.
- Supports in conducting risk and opportunity assessments during site commissioning phase and in handling technical risks by following mitigation guidelines during equipment distribution phases.
- Interacts with internal customers on scheduled project reviews as well as with external customers and supports them on requests.
Qualifications
- Preferred: 8+ years of industrial experience
Requirements
- Will be traveling to clients' locations throughout the country, 70 percent of the time.
- Experience working with engineers from different disciplines (electrical, software, etc.) to develop a material handling solution.
- Ability to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Experience in creating and verifying conveyor layouts.
- Ability to foster an inclusive culture within a team environment while ensuring high levels of project engagement and retention.
Shift
8am-5pm but times can vary
