Project Manager- Lab/Test Activities
Talascend is currently seeking a Project Manager- Lab/Test Activities for a long term contract opportunity with our client in Bellevue, Washington (State).
Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and supporting MCFR Delta Program test and experimental activities. The MCFR Project manager will work with multidisciplinary engineering and experimentalist teams to deliver critical data to support MCFR milestones. This role requires a minimum of 3 days in office. 1 day must be at the TerraPower Bellevue office while the other 2 days must be at the TerraPower Everett Lab.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning execution of project work scope with relevant engineering or experimental leads
- Assist the testing and experiment project team in achieving project tasks and deliverables on budget and schedule
- Monitoring, analyzing, tracking, and reporting on project cost, schedule, and scope progress using earned value (EV) data
- Conducting administrative duties, such as setting up meetings, drafting invoices and drawing estimates
- Liaising with project stakeholders concerning project details and deliverables
- Performing other duties assigned by the Principal Project Manager in an orderly and efficient manner
- Critical path analysis for test activities in the schedule
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience working in either a technical role, a project management role, or a combination of both, where they were responsible for technical tasks alongside project management duties
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent
- Experience in project management of lab/test activities is preferred over project management experience with software development.
- Experience with developing project budgets and resource loaded schedules
- Clear communication, strategic thinking, and organization are key qualifications
- Ability to adapt-to and rapidly learn new software and processes
- Demonstrated affinity for understanding key objective and intent and then working with stakeholders and software tools to improve a process or system to make it more efficient.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field
- PMP, or AACE certificate is highly preferred.
- Experience with Atlassian Confluence and JIRA preferred
- Strong technical background, including engineering management, is highly desirable.
- The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
- Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
