Talascend is currently seeking a Test Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Foster City, California.

Overview

The role involves building test solutions for manufacturing the electronic platform that underpins autonomous vehicles, developing tests for critical components, and working cross-functionally with electrical engineering and software teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build and release test solutions for use for early bring-up activities
  • Work cross-functionally to implement the correct test coverage and process across all phases of manufacturing (PCBA, module, system, vehicle)
  • Support the test and validation of prototype designs
  • Establish best practices and drive continuous improvement for improving test execution, test runtime and yield

Qualifications

  • BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent technical degree
  • 6-8 years of industry experience

Requirements

  • Hands on experience testing, troubleshooting and debugging complex software systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and testing electronic assemblies, knowledge of NPI testing and validation is a strong plus
  • Strong git proficiency (git workflows, conflict resolution, advanced branching and merging, history manipulation)
  • Strong knowledge of python, shell (bash) scripting. Experience with other programming languages such as C++ is beneficial
  • Experience with the linux platform - debugging failures using command line tools such as lshw, ssh
