Talascend is currently seeking a Project Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Port Arthur, Texas. With potential visits to the Louisiana LNG. 

Overview

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and craft professionals in the installation of gas turbine drivers and refrigerant compressors on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the installation of gas turbine drivers, accessory compartments, ducting, inlet filter housings, and all accessories associated with gas turbine aeroderivative drivers as well as the refrigerant compressors and all accessories associated with the refrigerant compressors.
  • Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned.
  • Schedules work to be performed, and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
  • Develops work plans and schedules.
  • Responsible for maintaining progress and productivity.
  • Determines workforce requirements.
  • Coordinates established area operational plans.
  • Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools, equipment and consumables and ensures that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive.
  • Responsible for keeping work crews safe and executing quality workmanship.
  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Collaborates when required with supplier representatives.
  • Manages materials of installation onsite.
  • Manages engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
  • Ensures proper implementation of the Preservation and Preventative Maintenance program.

Qualifications

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Requirements

  • Previous experience directly involved with the installation of aeroderivative gas turbine drivers.
  • Previous experience must include direct involvement with either of the following: Mixed Refrigerant Compressors: Baker Hughes 2BCL1206GE Driver Type GE LM6000 PF + DLE); MS7001EA, GT MCL1604 + BCL1002; MCL1405, 3MCL1405, 2BCL906 Propane Compressors: MS7001EA GT, MCL1404 + BCL904.
  • Previous experience in the levelness checks and grouting of soleplates for API refrigeration compressors.
  • Previous experience directly involved with alignment requirements of gas turbine drivers and refrigerant compressors.
  • Previous experience directly involved with the installation of inlet air filter housings, ductwork, enclosures and testing of gas turbine drivers.
  • Previous experience in the planning, installation and final closeout of accessory modules for refrigeration compressors and aeroderivative gas turbine drivers.
  • Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation.
  • Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan, the Core Processes, and Zero Accident Philosophy.
  • Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
  • Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
  • Computer literate in Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications in accordance with current Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
  • Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
  • Experience working with supervising and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce.
  • Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces.
  • Some lifting may be required.
  • Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
  • Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
