Aerospace Engine Architect

Talascend is currently seeking an Aerospace Engine Architect for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.

Overview

This position focuses on the design and development of advanced propulsion systems, requiring a blend of engineering expertise, project management skills, and innovative thinking to create efficient and reliable engines for aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of propulsion systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, materials science, and systems engineering, to integrate engine designs with overall vehicle architecture.
• Conduct simulations and tests to validate engine performance and reliability, analyzing data to inform design improvements.
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that development milestones are met.
• Use advanced computer software to design aerospace products and systems for functionality, cost-efficiency, and quality.
• Perform detailed evaluations to improve system safety and meet environmental regulations that impact aircraft operations and designs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate aerial concepts and applications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new technologies and methods, which may include attending conferences and workshops or pursuing continuous education.
• Provide technical advice to clients, management, and other departments on risk assessment and design solutions.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering field is required
• An advanced degree is preferred
• 10-15 years of experience in aerospace propulsion systems

Requirements

• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials
• Proficiency in CAD software, simulation tools, and project management methodologies are essential
