Legal Assistant
Talascend is currently seeking a Legal Office Assistant for a contract opportunity with our client in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
Responsibilities
- Manage all legal consumer complaints providing support to the legal team.
- Coordinate small claims complaints to ensure that they are assigned to a dedicated agent, follow up on, and resolved.
- If not resolved, schedule an RSM/FSM to attend small claims to defend on behalf or inform legal if outside counsel is needed.
- Support legal department with composing AG responses to consumer issues.
- Support legal department with gathering information of consumer history for filed class actions, legal demand letters or other relevant legal matters.
- Keep track of legal cases in Excel.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred but not required.
- Preferred 1+ year experience in customer service.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Requirements
- Excellent organization skills; able to prioritize tasks independently with minimal supervision; has great follow up skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- A team player, self-driven, flexible, dedicated individual - looking for a 'jack of all trades' kind of character that is able to help out in multiple areas.
- Analytical skills with problem solving abilities.
- Strong organized skills and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Shift
9am-6pm onsite (Mon thru Thurs). Fri is WFH which can change to on-site with little notice.
