R&D Purchase Request Processing Administrator
Talascend is currently seeking a R&D Purchase Request Processing Administrator for a contract opportunity with our client in Newark, California.
Overview
This role ensures timely procurement of materials, tools, and services essential for innovation and product development, while maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Responsibilities
- Process and track R&D-related purchase requests from initiation to completion
- Collaborate with engineers and project leads to clarify sourcing requirements
- Liaise with supply chain and finance teams to ensure budget alignment and vendor compliance
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and delivery timelines
- Assist in vendor selection and evaluation for R&D-specific materials and services
- Generate regular reports on procurement activity, cost analysis, and process efficiency
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or administrative support preferably in an engineering or R&D setting
Requirements
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into actionable purchase requests
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment
- Knowledge of engineering materials, lab equipment, and prototyping tools
- Understanding of compliance standards in R&D procurement (e.g., ISO, FDA, etc.)
Shift
Onsite Newark, CA, M-F 40 hours/week
