Facilities Maintenance Technician II
Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician II for a contract opportunity with our client in Greer, South Carolina.
Overview
Responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, supporting senior technicians, and ensuring optimal facility operations. This role offers growth opportunities within the facilities maintenance department.
Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on HVAC equipment including belt adjustments and replacements, lubrication of motors and moving parts, cleaning of coils and condensate drains, basic system performance checks, and documentation of maintenance activities.
- Assist senior maintenance technicians with complex repairs and installations, system troubleshooting and diagnostics, equipment commissioning and testing, and emergency response situations.
- Perform additional facility maintenance duties as assigned, including basic plumbing and electrical tasks, building systems monitoring, work order completion and documentation, and inventory management and tool maintenance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of HVAC maintenance experience
- EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred)
Requirements
- Basic understanding of commercial HVAC systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environmental conditions
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Time management and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Indoor/outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Potential exposure to mechanical equipment and confined spaces
- May require occasional overtime and emergency response availability
Preferred Requirements
- Additional trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Knowledge of building automation systems
Shift
Sunday - Thursday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
