Senior Pipe Stress Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Pipe Stress Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Reston, Virginia.
Overview
The role involves performing pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 or B31.3 Code.
Responsibilities
- Modeling of the piping systems using Bentley AutoPipe to verify piping flexibility, stability and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
- Stress review of isometrics based on span tables.
- Checking of work done by others.
- Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
- May include certain lead responsibilities.
Qualifications
- AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 7-8 years of experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Requirements
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
- Knowledgeable of ASME B31.3 and/or B31.1 other relevant industry piping codes and standards.
- Prior experience using a computer pipe stress analysis program (AutoPipe preferred)
Shift
Part-Time Telework; requires at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.
