Assembler
Talascend is currently seeking an Assembler for a contract opportunity with our client in Acton, Massachusetts.
Overview
The role involves assembling fabricated parts, testing and calibrating components to meet specifications, and using tools to ensure quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assembles fabricated parts at floor stations.
- Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
- Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications.
- Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary.
- Inspects products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Keeps the work area clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Adheres to all safety and operational procedures.
- Records production data and maintains accurate records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
- May require 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Requirements
- May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Works under immediate supervision.
- Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
- Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
- Lifting will exceed 30 lbs. and/or repetitions of this or lesser weights will be significant.
- Exposure to substantial machine, chemical, biological or other physical risks are anticipated.
Shift
1st shift - 7am-3:30pm with overtime
