Talascend is currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer position with a leading automotive manufacturer located in Romulus, Michigan.

Overview
The main function of a manufacturing process engineer is to direct the development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Responsibilities

  • Propose and evaluate manufacturing process and equipment for assigned areas.
  • Meet plant goals and standards in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Coordinate the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives.
  • Evaluate expenditures for processes and/or equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance and training for assigned plant operations.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance personnel and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Analyze tooling and equipment and select proper steps for solution.
  • Communicate with internal and external business units.
  • Support plants in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals.
  • Support and implement the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Basic knowledge of tooling processes.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive industry processes.
  • Knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool.
  • Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills.
  • 5 years minimum experience required.
  • Gear manufacturing experience/familiarity.
  • CNC programming experience (ability to read, make adjustments to NC programming).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical prints and understand basic GD&T.
  • Shift: Mon-Fri. Weekends 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Candidate will be expected to work Saturdays and Sundays more often than none. Off-shift support. 2nd shift 2pm-10pm, 3rd shift 10:30pm-6am.
