Sr, Business Development Manager - Land Systems - Defense or Military Experience Required
OVERVIEW
The company is growing its U.S. operations in Land Systems, delivering integrated counter-UAS systems and other land-based defense products to U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Military customers, primarily the Army and Marine Corps. This global supplier has decades of experience designing, developing, and delivering innovative, high-quality defense systems.
The Sr. Business Development Manager will be a key member of the BD Team with direct responsibility for developing new business in the U.S. Land market across the company’s portfolio of land systems. Land-based defense systems may include:
- Military vehicles (tactical trucks, armored vehicles, mobile platforms)
- Radars and sensors (battlefield surveillance, tracking, detection systems)
- Integrated counter-UAS (C-UAS) solutions (detection, tracking, neutralization systems)
- Other land-based defense platforms (e.g., gun stations, targeting or fire control systems)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and lead the implementation of U.S.-based land market opportunities in support of the growth strategy. Refine the strategy for land opportunities into near-term, cost-effective, and deliverable Capture Management Plans for each opportunity.
- Deliver Capture Management Plans up to and including contract negotiations.
- Support planning and execution for attendance at land and naval U.S. trade shows and conferences.
- Advise leadership on land warfare and land market defense business in the U.S.
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
- Interact with clients/potential clients and respond to business development inquiries about products and capabilities.
- Conduct high-level industry research to develop effective sales solutions.
- Collaborate with sales/design teams, including the United Kingdom sales/design team, to ensure business development strategies are achievable and executable.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS required, Masters preferred)
- At least 5 years selling to DoD and U.S. Military customers
- U.S. Passport, with no travel restrictions
PREFERRED
- US Army or USMC veteran (Not required, but military experience is a plus)
- Take pride in the business, its products, and services delivered to the warfighter
- Able to work within a small management team, comfortable with delegation and assuming responsibility
- Able to contribute and adhere to company strategy and execute it through day-to-day operations
- Flexibility to assume additional temporary responsibilities, as required, to support a rapidly growing company
- Commitment, drive, and initiative to seek continual improvements in the business and its products
- Possess the confidence to proactively challenge leadership
- Ability to forecast sales and growth potential
- Good working knowledge of the DoD and U.S.-based Defense Industry
- Strong understanding of the defense industry’s standards and regulations
- Business acumen partnered with a strict adherence to regulations
- Able to make decisions through use of personal initiative and understanding of company strategy
