Mail Courier
Talascend is currently seeking a Mail Courier for a contract opportunity with our client in Oakland, California.
Overview
The mail courier is responsible for managing courier duties, record keeping, and providing customer service. This role involves training in office operations, supporting core operational duties, and collaborating on various projects.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload cargo.
- Pickup and deliver important/confidential packages between various offices and individual employee addresses.
- Assist the mailroom with basic shipping and receiving processes in between courier duties.
- Report safety occurrences.
- Prepare and keep accurate transportation logs, vehicle fuel consumption logs, and other data as needed.
- Assist in moving and setting up materials, equipment, and furniture as required.
- Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules.
- Abide by all transportation laws and regulations and maintain a safe driving record.
- Maintain chain of custody for all deliveries.
- Deliver mail, files, documents, packages, and hardware devices within the specified radius.
- Complete the tracking log by recording accountable mail pieces picked up at the post office.
- Utilize delivery tracking software for route optimization and recipient confirmation.
- Keep national postal services’ customer receipts and deliver them to the sender on the next business day.
- Replenish postage meters as needed.
- Manage P.O. boxes for pick-up and drop-off locations.
- Distribute inter-office envelopes and packages.
- Maintain and regularly update campus mail-route maps.
- Maintain postal equipment, including postage machines and material handling equipment.
Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license issued by the state where you work and a clean driving record.
Requirements
- Ability to ensure confidentiality when handling documents relating to sensitive company, legal, and employee information.
- Ability to be punctual and meet delivery deadlines.
Shift
M-F - 7:30 - 3:30pm; first two weeks would be 8-5pm for trainings. Flexible hours may be needed.

Pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
