Talascend is currently seeking a Machining Skilled Trades - Industrial Machine Repair Level III for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Lakewood, New York.

Overview

In this role, you will troubleshoot, assemble, install, test, and maintain mechanical systems to keep equipment available and capable, while ensuring workplace safety and improving environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen equipment reliability by expertly troubleshooting, assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems to keep production running smoothly.
  • Elevate workplace safety by proactively identifying hazards, stopping unsafe work, and modeling strict adherence to HSE protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Improve environmental stewardship by recognizing how daily tasks affect the environment and consistently acting to reduce negative impact.
  • Enhance product quality through meticulous craftsmanship, precise use of technical documentation, and thorough inspections that prevent defects and reduce cost exposure.
  • Boost operational performance by executing preventive, corrective, emergency, and predictive maintenance that minimizes downtime and supports production goals.
  • Develop team capability by coaching less experienced technicians, sharing knowledge, and serving as a trusted resource for troubleshooting and best practices.
  • Drive process improvement by identifying constraints, solving recurring problems, and contributing to continuous improvement and TPM initiatives.
  • Strengthen team cohesion by communicating clearly, collaborating across support groups, and actively engaging in training and personal development to support collective success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a relevant trade field, or a Journeyman Trade Certificate with relevant experience.
  • A 2-year technical degree in a related field, plus 3 years experience working in the Machine Repair/Industrial Electrical field.

  • Strong controls related safety awareness, recognizing electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic hazards and integrating safe practices into every task, plan, and troubleshooting step.
  • Solid manufacturing knowledge, enabling you to apply process changes correctly, understand how equipment fits into the larger production system, and contribute meaningfully to continuous improvement.
  • A proactive approach to learning, staying current on procedures, equipment updates, and best practices so you can adapt quickly and support evolving operational needs.
  • A mindset focused on improvement, always looking for ways to enhance reliability, reduce downtime, streamline processes, and support a high performance manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to support production.

Shift

3rd shift 10pm-6am +/- 2 positions open
