Talascend is currently seeking a  Mobile Facility Technician  for a contract opportunity with our client in  Nashville, Tennessee .

Overview

the main function of a mobile engineer is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple facilities, demonstrating technical expertise in one craft area and being multi-skilled in others.

Responsibilities

  • perform maintenance, monitoring repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to keep facility and building systems up to standards as assigned
  • travel between multiple facilities, ensuring their proper function
  • maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency
  • maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to optimize performance of HVAC systems and related equipment
  • record readings and make adjustments as necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment
  • comply with departmental policies for safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace
  • perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory
  • monitor the quality and cost of maintenance work performed by outside contractors
  • adhere to all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, recognize hazards, and propose methods to eliminate them

Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 5-7 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems
  • ability to analyze operations of commercial or industrial systems and determine causes of malfunctions
  • epa 608 type ii certification
  • working knowledge of computer applications including word and excel
  • valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • epa 608 universal certification
  • two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and hvac
