Mobile Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Washington Township, Ohio.
Overview
The main function of a mobile engineer is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple sites. Candidates should demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area and be multi-skilled in others.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, monitoring repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
- Travel between multiple facilities, ensuring their proper function.
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to optimize performance.
- Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Comply with policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
- Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
- Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
- Adhere to safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and identify and propose solutions to safety hazards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- Ability to analyze the operation of various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and take corrective action.
- EPA 608 Type II certification.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA 608 Universal Certification.
- Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
