Talascend is currently seeking a Controls Engineer for an opportunity in Wentzville, Missouri.
OVERVIEW
The role involves analyzing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing electrical problems in manufacturing, completing engineering projects related to electrical controls and programming, and supporting plant continuous improvement activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical problems in manufacturing
  • Complete engineering projects related to electrical controls and programming
  • Work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision
  • Be a technical resource for plant electricians
  • Supervise project installations by contractors and plant electricians
  • Develop and plan Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Design and modify electrical control circuits and programs
  • Support plant continuous improvement activity
  • Make recommendations for solutions to problems
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions
  • Meet schedule and quality requirements
  • Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreement
  • Implement divisional and corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practices
  • Maintain frequent contact and collaboration in other areas outside of working group
  • Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment
  • Establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors - Electrical or Mechanical Degree
  • 2-4 years of experience at least
  • Preferred: 5-7 years of robotic experience if no Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in PLC’s – preferred the Rockwell family PLC 5 and control logics
  • Experience in various VFD’s variable frequency drive
  • Experience with HMI (human machine interface)
  • Shift Flexibility
