Production Supervisor

Talascend is currently seeking a Production Supervisor with a leading automotive manufacturer located in Bedford, Indiana.

Overview
The role involves overseeing a team in a die cast facility, managing equipment and staff to ensure smooth operations, quality, and safety compliance on a 12-hour shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Manage approximately 18-20 team members and oversee 21 die cast machines.
• Conduct shift handoff meetings, safety talks, and assign daily tasks to team members.
• Monitor machine status and quality issues, making decisions to resolve problems.
• Handle discipline and pass on shift reports and audits.
• Coordinate with engineering, tooling, maintenance, and trades as needed.
• Maintain computer-based records using Excel and Outlook.

• Prepare end-of-shift notes and report on operational performance.

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience, with union experience considered a bonus.
• Technical background with knowledge of die casting is preferred.
• Union experience preferred
• Strong problem solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Experience managing conflicts in a team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel).
• Monday-Friday. There is weekend work that is required. Will need to be open to working Saturdays and Sundays. Need to be there 30 minutes prior for meeting hand off.
  1st 7:00am-3:30p, 2nd: 3pm-11:30pm, 3rd: 11pm to 7:30am
