IT Project Manager
Talascend is currently seeking a IT Project Manager for a contract opportunity with our client in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Overview
This role involves coordinating all activities for a major project, ensuring successful project completion, and managing a team. The project includes working with client/server technology, web-based applications, and various software development methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all activities for a major IT project and be directly responsible for project delivery
- Assemble project team, assign responsibilities, identify resources, and develop project schedules
- Interact with team members to develop project plans and prototypes
- Work with commercial off-the-shelf and client/server solutions
- Communicate effectively with customers, management, and functional groups
- Maintain good customer relations and explain technical trade-offs
- Provide leadership and management to project staff, including recruitment, performance reviews, and employee development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 8+ years of related experience in the computer programming or project management field
- Knowledge of statistics, programming, and software engineering methodologies
- Experience with project management software such as MS-Project and PeopleSoft
- Strong client/server knowledge, system development, database programming, and web application development skills
