Safety Coordinator
Talascend is currently seeking a Safety Coordinator for a contract opportunity with our client in Warren, Michigan.
Overview
This role involves supporting safety initiatives, ensuring compliance, and promoting a safe work environment on the shop floor near production. The coordinator will collaborate with operations and safety teams to maintain regulatory standards and incident prevention measures.
Responsibilities
- Ensure alignment with safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Participate in daily safety meetings with operations and weekly meetings with the management team
- Support safety programs and initiatives to promote incident prevention
- Assist in continuous improvement and problem-solving related to safety practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a safety culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree of science preferred (Occupational and Health)
- Minimum of 2 years of safety experience
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in vehicle/automotive manufacturing or powertrain/foundry environments
