CNC Machinist
Talascend is currently seeking a CNC Machinist for a contract opportunity with our client in Urbana, Ohio.
Overview
This role involves setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, performing quality inspections, and maintaining production goals. The position requires strong mechanical knowledge and blueprint reading experience to ensure quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
- Perform first-piece inspections and maintain quality on all parts
- Follow job work instructions and quality procedures
- Deburr parts and meet daily production goals
- Edit G-code programs
- Help meet deadlines and complete orders in order of precedence
- Maintain a clean work area using 5S principles
- Attend and participate in daily tier meetings
- Track and run jobs in order of precedence
- Log job information using the SAP system
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of CNC experience preferred but not required
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Proficiency with measuring devices such as calipers, OD mics, steel ruler, height gauge, and depth mics
- Basic computer skills are a plus
Shift
4th shift start time of 4:00am to 4:00pm Friday thru Sunday.
