Quality Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Quality Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Warren, Michigan.
Overview
This role involves ensuring alignment to the specified quality standards within manufacturing environments, primarily focusing on body shop and general assembly processes involving robotics and manual welding, with a heavy documentation component.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with quality standards in production environments, including robotics cells and manual welding stations.
- Follow up on build issues and document processes thoroughly.
- Support growing projects within pre-production spaces and body shop operations.
- Participate in cross-functional teamwork to meet quality objectives.
- Conduct root cause analysis using statistical methods and tools like Minitab to monitor and improve quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Engineering, or relevant field (college grads are welcomed).
- Automotive experience is a plus.
- Experience with powertrain/propulsion systems, including engines, transmissions, and drive units.
- Fundamental knowledge of machine operations.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis using tools like Minitab.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
