Engineering Technologist
Talascend is currently seeking an Engineering Technologist for a contract opportunity with our client in Asheville, North Carolina.
Overview
Join a dynamic team supporting utility distribution design work, field inspections, engineering design, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections and gather data to develop electrical design work packages.
- Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews.
- Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design.
- Coordinate with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, and other stakeholders.
- Review work provided by clients and assess scope requirements.
- Travel locally and regionally up to 80% of the time to collect field data.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or higher in engineering technology or related field preferred.
- Willingness to perform both field and office work.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to work outdoors in various environments.
- Valid US driver’s license required for local and regional travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Power/utilities industry experience.
- Previous experience with field data collection.
