Production Supervisor

Talascend is currently seeking a Production Supervisor located in Bedford, Indiana.

Overview

The production supervisor will oversee a team in a die cast facility, ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and quality standards. The role involves managing unionized staff and coordinating daily manufacturing activities on a rotating shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Supervise approximately 18-20 team members working in a die cast environment.
• Oversee 21 individual die cast machines and monitor their status throughout the shift.
• Conduct pass-on meetings and perform safety talks with the team.
• Assign tasks, troubleshoot issues, and make decisions to resolve quality or machine problems.
• Handle disciplinary actions and ensure adherence to safety and production protocols.
• Maintain shift documentation including sheets and audits.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and tooling departments as needed.
• Manage day-to-day team performance and problem-solve operational challenges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, including union environment experience a bonus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Outlook and Excel.
• Technical background in die casting or manufacturing preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Union experience.

Shift

Onsite 12-hour days with a rotating schedule: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off, including weekends. Candidates are expected to arrive 30 minutes before shift start times and be flexible with weekend work.
