Talascend is currently seeking a Material Handler for a contract opportunity with our client in West Chester Township, Ohio.

Overview

This role involves performing multifunctional duties in a warehouse environment, including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and the put-away of parts. The position requires operating equipment such as forklifts and ensuring accurate handling of shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Work from an order picklist/RF scanner to fill customer part orders from warehouse bins.
  • Group parts according to the order pick list and transport the accurate parts to packing.
  • Ensure proper and accurate counts for each order before packing, maintaining order completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform tasks related to shipping and receiving of parts, including counting, examining, and recording shortages or damages.
  • Weigh, label, and prepare outgoing shipments, attaching bills of lading as needed.
  • Maintain records of receiving/shipping reports and other related documents.
  • Operate electric-powered forklifts to move, stack, load, or unload materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Proficient in PC-based software programs is a plus but not required.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with a focus on accuracy and time management.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs, as well as reach, bend, squat, and kneel.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Mathematical skills to ensure data accuracy.
  • Work well under pressure, be flexible, and cooperative.
