Talascend is currently seeking a Shipping and Receiving Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Houston, Texas.

Overview

This role involves coordinating, shipping, and receiving domestic and international shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of all required documents and transactions necessary to ship and receive materials to and from domestic and international locations. This may include preparation of manifests, packing lists, letters of credit, declarations, import licenses, certification of origins or like documentation. Transactions may be required on ERP, carrier based and/or manual systems.
  • Coordinates shipments and/or deliveries with carriers and/or forwarding agents. Distributes required documentation to forwarding agent, customer, and other necessary recipients.
  • Responsible for investigation of issues related to shipments and receipts. This will include immediate resolution of incoming material issues, storage, retrieval, and analysis of historic shipping and receiving transactions and documentation.
  • Corresponds with finance team regarding credit hold customers, following established hold procedures.
  • Work closely with customer service and project managers to expedite items to meet customer deliveries.
  • Adhere to returned goods procedures, communicating the receipt of materials, and processing upon approval.
  • Generate and/or maintain various shipping and receiving reports, as required.
  • Expedites and follows orders of a critical nature.
  • Responsible for data and inventory integrity within the shipping department.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Two years of shipping experience
  • Two years of Excel experience
  • Two years of customer service experience
  • Experience with international and domestic shipments
  • SAP experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Logistics experience

Shift

Hours are from 7:30 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, first shift.
