Procurement Specialist
Talascend is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.
OverviewThe role involves supporting procurement activities including managing contract administration, interacting with suppliers, and coordinating with various internal departments to ensure timely deliveries and contract closeouts. The specialist will contribute to project success by minimizing risks and ensuring efficient supplier and subcontractor management.
Responsibilities- Support contract administrators with post-award contract activities
- Interact with suppliers to track purchase orders and resolve issues
- Provide reports on subcontract closeouts and purchase order status
- Coordinate with shipping and receiving departments for timely deliveries
- Assist with supplier screening and small-dollar procurement requisitions
- Help resolve invoicing deficiencies and match exceptions
- Perform any other duties assigned by the procurement leadership
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or associate degree with 4 years of experience, or bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience developing relationships with internal customers and suppliers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
- Experience working in a U. S. Government (DOE or DOD) environment preferred
- Understanding of warehouse, shipping/receiving, and material handling
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
