Construction Site Manager
Talascend is currently seeking a Construction Site Manager for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.
Overview
The role involves overseeing the follow-up of building manufacturing and assembly at the construction site, including tasks related to shell construction, interior installations, HVAC, lighting, and potentially electrical equipment supervision and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Confirm that required materials are on order and will be delivered on time
- Track daily progress, including manpower, hours, tasks completed, and daily challenges
- Consolidate and follow up on punch lists to ensure corrections are made
- Attend scheduled and emergent project calls
- Review daily work plans and confirm accomplishments
- Schedule and lead 2-3 week lookahead calls with suppliers and sub-suppliers
- Conduct regular site visits to assess manufacturing progress and compliance
- Ensure lookahead includes witness and hold points, working with QA to send inspection notices
- Review weekly lookahead reports and anticipate production capacity, equipment deliveries, and manpower availability
- Ensure weekly progress reports are prepared and shared with project and procurement teams
- Report on the condition of welding and other certification-required equipment
- Ensure safety standards are adhered to and address any safety concerns immediately
- Coordinate with other QA teams to ensure project drawings are properly supplied
- Collaborate internally to develop strategies to mitigate delays and optimize manufacturing processes
Qualifications
- Engineering degree (civil, structural, mechanical, or related field) or equivalent technical experience
- Strong understanding of design documents, shop drawings, and specifications
- Metal building installation experience, including prefabricated structures, steel framing, and cladding
- Previous experience in quality assurance or inspection within pre-engineered buildings or similar structures
- Knowledge of welding, bolting, paneling, and structural alignment for prefab buildings
- Familiarity with welding codes, industry standards, and local building regulations
- Knowledge of QC/QA procedures, material inspections, and workmanship verification
- Proficiency with measuring tools, laser levels, and survey instruments
- Experience using scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or similar platforms
