Quality Inspector
Talascend is currently seeking a Quality Inspector for a contract opportunity with our client in Birmingham, Alabama.
Overview
This role involves performing manual visual inspections of final products, operating basic equipment, and supporting quality standards in a manufacturing environment. The inspector ensures products meet specified criteria and assists with equipment installation and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Primarily perform manual visual inspection of the final product.
- Manipulate each unit and check for flaws or nonconformities according to procedures and criteria.
- Operate basic equipment and carry out routine tasks following strict instructions.
- Perform operational tasks within established processes and parameters, including sampling, labeling, and final packaging.
- Assist in installing equipment and appliances by preparing and providing support as directed.
- Help maintain and repair equipment and appliances while following detailed instructions.
- Support the quality function by adhering to strict quality standards.
- Follow mandatory work instructions, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Documentation of 20/20 near visual acuity or better (i.e., 20/14); no color blindness.
- Physically able to sit or stand for long periods, focus mentally, and perform repetitive motions with short breaks.
- Ability to use PPE appropriately based on hazards and exposure potential.
- Capable of recording detailed numerical data legibly and performing elementary math.
- Effective elementary verbal communication skills under supervision.
- Ability to work with guidance to develop and interpret policies and procedures.
- Ability to identify, assess, and manage risks at an elementary level under supervision.
- Motivate employees to learn and grow to help achieve organizational goals.
- Work under supervision to ensure full compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
