Talascend is currently seeking an Environmental Safety and Health Inspector for a contract opportunity with our client in Winnemucca, Nevada.

Overview

In this role, you will provide technical oversight of the project's ES&H compliance activities through inspection of project field execution activities. You will assist project and construction management in implementing and complying with project safety requirements and in addressing ES&H issues as they arise during project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a wide variety of environmental, safety, and health disciplines to facilitate implementation of the ES&H program and management system, including aiding compliance with standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and participate in site meetings with project team members, contractors, and subcontractors to advise them of safety requirements.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures for employee safety, health, and environmental protection.
  • Maintain ES&H databases, including incident events, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify trends and contribute to continuous improvement, making recommendations accordingly.
  • Prepare communications, reports, and documents for program execution and records retention.
  • Coordinate incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare incident reports.
  • Participate or lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
  • Coordinate ES&H recognition programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience, or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910.
  • Understanding of core ES&H processes (preferred).
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis for incident investigations.
  • Experience in ES&H assessments and inspections during construction.
  • Experience managing or providing oversight of ES&H subcontractors or consultants.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of safety programs, engineering systems, principles, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of national safety laws, regulations, and industry standards.
