Facilities Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Columbus, Ohio.
Overview
The facilities maintenance technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various facility systems and equipment. The role requires specialized skills in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, with the ability to handle diverse technical work and ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and safety of building systems.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVACR and chiller systems
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions using building automation systems, schematics, and diagnostic tools
- Maintain electrical systems, including low and medium voltage power distribution and lighting
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and other building equipment
- Conduct daily startup procedures for fire pumps, water heaters, boilers, elevators, and compressors
- Perform miscellaneous repairs such as painting and hardware maintenance
- Assist with additional responsibilities as needed and adapt to flexible scheduling requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, with two years of trades schooling in electrical, refrigeration, or HVAC
- Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs
- 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance within a commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environment
- At least 2 years of experience using CMMS and PM software and working with building automation systems
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, work orders, sketches, blueprints, and manuals
- Strong communication skills
- Advanced troubleshooting skills in building automation systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience working in manufacturing or industrial facilities
