HVAC Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Pennington, New Jersey.
Overview
an experienced HVAC technician to provide maintenance, repair, and installation of critical HVAC equipment in an industrial/commercial facility. This role is essential to maintaining optimal environmental conditions for operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and service air handling equipment, air filters, differential pressure (DP) monitoring systems, and air balancing equipment
- Service refrigeration systems including specialty multi-circuit systems, DX systems, process chillers, and comfort chillers
- Manage refrigerants in full compliance with NJ and EPA requirements, maintaining accurate usage and inventory records
- Monitor, operate, and adjust heat exchangers, HVAC systems, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, VAV systems, electrical systems, emergency backup systems, and hot water systems
- Maintain refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment
- Service and repair boilers, ventilation equipment, hot water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, and filters
- Monitor mechanical and electrical equipment, record readings, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal operation
- Analyze system operations, diagnose problems/malfunctions, and implement corrective actions
- Install and repair plumbing, piping, and tubing systems
- Wire single and three-phase motors, run conduit, and pull wiring to machinery and operating components
- Install, rebuild, and maintain pumps, motors, air compressors, and heat exchangers
- Replace motor bearings, pump seals, and maintain associated piping, valves, filters, and controls
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical controls, switching, and motor control systems
- Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for HVAC units and pumps
- Execute routine facility repairs including sheetrock, patching, caulking, painting, lock repair, and piping
- Demonstrate proficiency in identifying, utilizing, and operating tools and equipment specific to HVAC maintenance
Qualifications
- HVAC certification and extensive experience with industrial/commercial facilities
- EPA refrigerant handling certification
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation
