Talascend is currently seeking a HVAC Maintenance Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in El Paso, Texas.
Overview
This role involves overseeing the operational management of HVAC and building systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability within a campus environment. The candidate will lead maintenance activities, manage safety protocols, and coordinate with contractors to maintain building infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, water cooling, air conditioning, boilers, pumps, valves, piping, and electrical equipment, ensuring proper operation and reporting malfunctions as needed.
- Oversee repair and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems, determining repair and maintenance schedules.
- Manage inventory of tools and supplies, including preparing purchase requests and inventory checks.
- Supervise contractors working within the building and coordinate their activities.
- Identify and remediate safety hazards, implementing safety training programs and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Maintain infrastructure and compliance documentation, including building drawings and regulatory reports.
- Demonstrate proper use of tools, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques through hands-on training and instruction.
- Support efforts to improve mechanical equipment uptime by executing inspection and monitoring programs, adopting maintenance best practices, and evaluating current methods.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of facility-related work experience, including leadership and supervisory roles.
- HVAC and EPA certifications are required; electrical certifications are also necessary.
- Experience with CMMS systems, specifically Corrigo, is essential.
- Knowledge of HVAC components, electrical systems (120-480 volts), and mechanical systems.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to perform under safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with construction planning and execution.
- Knowledge of welding and fluid handling systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Certifications as a Universal Technician for CFCs and valid electrical licenses are advantageous.
