Talascend is currently seeking a Building Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Dallas, Texas.
Overview
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across various systems. The role requires technical expertise in one craft area with multi-skilled capabilities in others to ensure the proper functioning of the building's mechanical and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems of the facility.
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to ensure optimal performance of HVAC and related systems.
- Record readings and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Follow safety protocols for hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Conduct periodic checks of tools and inventory.
- Monitor the quality and cost of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
- Adhere to safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and recognize and eliminate hazards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5-7 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification.
- Proficiency with computer applications including Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
