Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Kansas City, Missouri.
Overview
The Maintenance Technician provides electrical and mechanical support for the buildings at a client campus. This role involves routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repair tasks across various systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to ensure optimal facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other installed systems.
- Conduct facility inspections and report on conditions affecting client occupancy and operations.
- Handle general interior maintenance such as light plumbing, hanging pictures, repairing office furniture, replacing ceiling tiles, and repairing doors.
- Assist the operations team with maintenance and repair of building and equipment as directed.
- Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as needed.
- Set up conference rooms and facilities for events upon request.
- Support the electrical team with light electrical and lighting work.
- Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts, and assist HVAC technicians as required.
- Complete hazard assessments and maintain safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and city ordinances and codes, and complete all safety trainings.
- Follow policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical work in a commercial setting.
- Experience troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Experience using volt meters.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb up to 30 ft ladders.
- Must be able to perform frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using CMMS work order system (Corrigo used on-site).
- EPA Universal certification.
