Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Lewiston, Idaho.
Overview
The maintenance technician supports the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment across multiple sites. They perform both independent and team-based maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of facilities within assigned properties.
Responsibilities
- Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts
- Assist the operations team in building and equipment maintenance and repair
- Perform general interior maintenance, such as hanging pictures and repairing office furniture systems
- Conduct minor plumbing repairs
- Complete special tasks including painting, locksmith work, tenant service requests, and other maintenance duties
- Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and materials as needed
- Perform facility inspections and report conditions impacting occupancy and operations
- Be on call for after-hours emergencies
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintain adherence to local ordinances, codes, and policies for hazardous materials
- Participate in technical, safety, and operational training programs
- Document work performance and materials procurement
- Work independently or as part of a team and handle other operational tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience in building repair and maintenance
- Basic plumbing and electrical skills
- Valid state driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of technical training program
The role involves physical demands such as lifting up to 80 lbs., climbing ladders up to 30 feet, and moving throughout multiple sites as needed. The position requires on-call availability for emergencies and occasional overtime.
