Electrical Wiring Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Wiring Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in St. Louis, Missouri.
Overview
A wiring technician at the company typically involves tasks related to installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting wiring systems in various settings, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Install and wire control panels, set up and connect control panels, door devices, and in-home systems
- Run new wiring by drilling holes and routing wiring through residential or commercial properties
- Test systems using diagnostic equipment to ensure safety and full functionality
- Read blueprints and wiring schematics to guide installations
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to safe wiring practices and company guidelines
- Perform routine electrical duties utilizing specialized tools and equipment such as overhead cranes and power tools
- Verify dimensions with measuring instruments like tape measures and digital tools
- Support continuous improvement activities and maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Set up and change over equipment, and use measuring and diagnostic tools effectively
- Use personal protective equipment to prevent incidents or injuries
- Check materials prior to processing to meet specifications
- Perform essential functions of the job, including wiring units, reading schematics, and testing components
Qualifications
- Electrical wiring experience
- Ability to work with 480 Volt 3 Phase
- Ability to lift 40 lb
- Ability to read wiring schematics
- Knowledge of AC/DC circuitry
- Experience measuring, examining, assembling, and testing units with precision instruments
- Understanding of multi-meter functions
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work and wire 480 voltage
- Ability to analyze information and concepts
- Ability to collaborate with others and work independently
- Ability to identify key details and troubleshoot
- Good coordination, motor skills, and dexterity
- Creative thinking and idea generation
- Ability to communicate information clearly
- Proficiency in production environment as electrician; degree in electrical technology preferred
- Good attendance, punctuality, and readiness to work at shift start
- Self-directed with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Teamwork skills to meet department goals
