Automotive Paint Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Paint Technician for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Overview
This role involves performing exterior paint work on vehicles in a low volume production setting, ensuring that the work meets OEM production standards. The technician will handle tasks such as preparing vehicles, mixing paints, and color matching to ensure high-quality finishes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the vehicle or parts for paint application, including masking, cleaning, and checking that the vehicle is properly prepped and masked
- Weigh and mix paint according to program specifications
- Apply base coat and clear coat to vehicles or components
- Perform color matching and paint blending on refinish repairs
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by management based on business needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- At least 2 years of paint experience in a collision or aftermarket paint setting
- Ability to multi-task and ensure follow-up and execution of required tasks
- Ability to paint entire vehicles with high quality standards
- High degree of organization and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to assist peers, teach, and adapt to flexible work demands
- Ability to lift 5–75 lbs and perform moderate to high levels of physical activity
